Many of us experience renewed hope and faith during the Thanksgiving holiday because we turn our eyes onto what is most important. What if we spent time each day in giving thanks and prayer? Imagine how could God grow out faith and trust if we lived a life of thanks through all seasons and not just Thanksgiving time?

Thanksgiving Break

This message is a reminder to all Conestoga Public School families that because of Thanksgiving, there will be classes , Monday, November 20, and there is an early release of classes, 1:45pm for the Elementary and 2:00pm for the Junior-Senior High School on Wednesday, November 22. Classes resume on Tuesday, November 28.

Can you think of a special person in your life who helped shape you? Someone who believed in you, and helped you to see the awesome person you are? That person was a mentor. Be that special person to a student at Conestoga. The Conestoga TeamMates Mentoring program is looking for caring, adult mentors who can meet with a student for one hour a week at school. A mentor training and informational session will be held at the Conestoga Elementary School cafeteria on Tuesday, September 26 from 6-8pm. Anyone interested in TeamMates is welcome to attend. Recipe of the week...

Creamy Grape Salad

Ingredients

8 oz softened cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
⅓ cup sugar
1 tbs fresh lemon juice
½ tsp vanilla
4 lbs seedless grapes (red, white or a combination of the two)
¼ cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

Beat cream cheese, sour cream and sugar until very smooth. Add the vanilla and lemon juice; beat at low speed to combine.
Remove grapes from the stem and place in a large bowl; stir in desired amount of dressing.
Place in a large serving bowl and garnish with chopped walnuts.
Serve immediately or cover and chill until ready to use.
